Luas Docklands Opening



Luas Docklands, the extension of the Luas Red Line to The Point will open for passenger services on Tuesday 8th December 2009 at 3pm.To mark the historical arrival of the iconic Luas to the Docklands RPA are inviting you to join in the celebrations with a host of free events.



Join us in celebrating the historical launch of Luas Docklands with the street performers, carol singers, gospel choir, facepainters, Santa and a sneak preview of the 2009 Docklands Christmas Market. Remember, it is all for free, so jump on board!



All travel in the new Luas Docklands Zone is free to the general public on Tuesday 8th December 2009 from 3pm. Free travel is between the four new stops at George's Dock, Mayor Square - NCI, Spencer Dock and The Point. Regular services will start at 5.30am on Wednesday 9th December 2009.

Mayor Square / NCI - Black Raven Pipe Band and Dublin Gospel Choir

Spencer Dock - Vintage Tram and Festive Cheer

The Point - Live Entertainment

On Luas - Carol Singers



Passengers availing of the free Luas Docklands service on 8th December 2009 will be entertained along the line by Stilt Walkers as well as a host of other entertainers.
